Next, strict installation standards are followed:

  • Job site inspection and moisture readings
  • Acclimation of wood to your home to minimize seasonal expansion and contraction
  • Installation using proper layout, nailing schedules, & joint placement

As evidenced by the following pictures, All American Hardwood Flooring believes in Quality and Care with each Step:

A Beautiful Hardwood floor begins with a Proper Subfloor:

PROFESSIONAL DUST FREE SANDING

If you were worried that sanding your hardwood floors would involve choking dust & hours of clean up, worry no more. All American Hardwood Flooring uses the Diamond Jet Dust Free Containment System. As floors are sanded, the dust is captured & evacuated before it’s airborne---leaving very minimal clean up. A smooth flat surface is achieved using proven sanding sequences for each species in conjunction with years of experience and recommendations from the National Wood Flooring Association.

EXPERT WOOD FLOORING FINISHING

After sanding, a natural sealer (or a stain color of your choice) and multiple coats of GREENGUARD certified Bona Kemi finishes are applied. All American Hardwood Flooring buffs in between every coat. The extra effort of buffing between coats makes all the difference and is the secret to a smooth beautiful floor.

FLOOR CARE TIPS

CLEANING:

  • All American Hardwood Flooring recommends Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner—which can be found at most grocery stores & Lowe’s.
  • Do NOT use detergent, wax, oil, Orange Glow, Murphy Oil, Soap, Endust, Formula 409, Mop n Glo, or other polishes. These products can dull the finish. It can also leave a film that can impair bonding of future recoats.
  • Vacuum using a brush attachment or Dust Mop regularly.
  • NEVER Damp Mop a wood floor and Do NOT allow water to stand on your floors for any length of time.
  • Remove Wet Spills promptly using a soft cotton cloth.

PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE:

  • Regularly trim your pet’s claws.
  • Use mats or throw rugs at entrances and heavy traffic areas.
  • Use furniture leg protector pads under all furniture legs. Do NOT allow heavy furniture to rest on small  Metal tips or hard plastic domes.
  • Avoid wearing cleats & keep high heels in good repair. Heels that have worn down or lost protective caps, exposing the steel support rod in the heel can dent your floor surface.
  • Keep the relative humidity in your home between 45% and 55%. Protect your floor from direct sunlight over long periods of time.
  • Have your floor buffed & recoated every 2 to 4 years in high traffic areas and 3 to 6 years in areas of lower traffic.

NEWLY FINISHED FLOOR CARE:

  • Please wait a minimum of 24 hours before walking on floors with stocking feet and 48 hours for shoes.
  • Wait 7 days before cleaning your floor.
  • Allow 72 hours before allowing pets & placing furniture on hardwood.
  • Area rugs may be placed on hardwood flooring after 1 to 2 weeks. The floor needs to breathe in order to cure.
  • Install felt protector pads or EZ-Glide protectors on feet of furniture. Do NOT drag furniture or appliances on flooring.
